HGV / Van Driver

Schedule: 5 Days Out of 7 (Weekend Availability Required)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for reliable and professional HGV / Van Drivers to support the delivery and setup of mobile medical units across the UK. This role combines driving with practical on-site responsibilities, making it ideal for individuals who enjoy varied work and travelling nationwide.

You will be responsible for transporting mobile medical units, preparing them for clinical use, and ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive vans, rigid vehicles, and Class 1 HGVs to locations across the UK.
  • Deliver, position, and set up mobile medical units.
  • Assist with packing down units after deployment.
  • Transport consumables and relocate units between sites.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
  • Keep vehicles clean, roadworthy, and compliant with company standards.
  • Complete driver paperwork and comply with Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
  • Carry out site risk assessments and submit required documentation accurately.
  • Support yard operations when units are not deployed.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (Class 1 HGV licence preferred but not essential).
  • Safe and responsible driving record.
  • Comfortable travelling across the UK and staying away from home when required.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to carry out hands-on duties outside of driving.
  • Good physical fitness for lifting and moving equipment.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous HGV driving experience.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Commitment to health and safety procedures.
