Job Overview
James Latham, one of the UK’s leading independent distributors of timber, panels, and decorative surfaces, is looking for a motivated Class 2 / Category C Driver to join its team in Aveley. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver timber, panels, and related products to customers safely and on time.
- Complete multi-drop deliveries across assigned routes.
- Carry out both mechanical and manual unloading of deliveries when required.
- Inspect vehicles before and after each shift to ensure they are roadworthy.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and required paperwork.
- Provide excellent customer service during every delivery.
- Follow all road safety regulations and company transport procedures.
- Work closely with the warehouse and transport teams to ensure efficient deliveries.
- Keep vehicles clean and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Skills & Requirements
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) UK driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Maximum of 6 penalty points (No DD or CD endorsements).
- At least 2 years of Class 2 driving experience is preferred.
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible to work early morning starts.
- Forklift or Combi-Lift licence is an advantage but not essential.
- Experience handling timber or building materials is beneficial but not required.
