About the Role
A full-time opportunity is available for a reliable, hands-on and organised Catering Truck & Trailer Driver / Warehouse Manager. This is a varied position combining driving responsibilities with warehouse management and operational support.
The role involves transporting catering trucks, trailers, equipment and supplies to events and production locations across London and the UK. Alongside driving duties, you will help keep the warehouse organised, manage stock and prepare equipment and supplies for upcoming jobs.
There will be regular vehicle movements around London as well as cross-country travel.
Driving & Transport Duties
You will be responsible for safely driving catering trucks, trailers and company vehicles to different events and locations. The role requires confidence when towing and manoeuvring catering trailers in different locations.
Your driving responsibilities will also include loading and unloading catering equipment, stock and supplies. You will help position catering units and equipment during event set-up and assist with pack-down afterwards.
It will be important to ensure that vehicles, trailers and equipment reach their destinations safely and on time. Basic vehicle and trailer checks will also be required, with any maintenance issues reported appropriately.
Keeping vehicles, trailers and equipment clean, secure and in good working condition will form part of the role.
Warehouse Responsibilities
The warehouse side of the position involves organising day-to-day operations and keeping the working environment clean, tidy, safe and well arranged.
You will receive, check and store deliveries, maintain stock levels and make sure required supplies are available for upcoming jobs. This includes picking and preparing stock, equipment and supplies.
You will also monitor the condition of stock and equipment and report any losses, damage or shortages. Maintaining an organised system for catering equipment, disposables, cleaning products and other supplies will be part of your responsibilities.
Stock takes and inventory management will also be supported as required.
What the Employer Is Looking For
Applicants should have experience driving 7.5-tonne trucks and towing trailers, with previous trailer-towing experience essential. A full UK driving licence with the appropriate entitlement for the vehicles and trailers is required, along with an HGV licence.
The role requires good knowledge of London and UK roads, the ability to safely lift and move catering equipment and stock, and good organisational and communication skills.
Experience in hospitality, catering, logistics or warehouse operations is welcomed. You should be practical, physically fit, able to solve problems quickly and comfortable working both independently and with a team.
Flexibility is essential, including willingness to work early mornings, evenings and weekends and travel for events.
