Role Overview
We are currently recruiting a Part-time Catering Assistant to join our team at Rochdale Infirmary. The role focuses on delivering excellent service to patients, visitors, and staff within retail catering areas, ensuring a high-quality customer experience in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve simple food items such as salads, sandwiches, paninis, pizza, and hot snacks
- Operate in a busy barista-style coffee shop environment, serving customers efficiently and professionally
- Set up and maintain service counters for daily operations
- Take food orders accurately in person and over the phone
- Handle cash and card payments while maintaining correct financial records
- Assist with stock management, including receiving deliveries, replenishing shelves, and rotating stock
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors
- Maintain cleanliness of counters, dining areas, and kitchen spaces
- Wash dishes and clear used equipment as required
- Follow HACCP food safety standards and maintain accurate records
- Deliver food orders to hospital wards when needed
- Provide cover within other catering areas, including patient kitchen duties, during staff absences
