Job Overview
A respected secondary school in Stafford is looking for a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join its site management team. This permanent part-time role is ideal for someone with practical maintenance skills who is committed to keeping the school safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Unlock and secure school buildings each day.
- Monitor heating, lighting, and security alarm systems.
- Carry out routine inspections, cleaning, and site checks.
- Perform minor repairs and general maintenance tasks.
- Keep school buildings and outdoor areas clean, tidy, and safe.
- Manage waste disposal and replenish site supplies.
- Assist with room setups and support contractors when required.
- Help maintain a safe environment by following health and safety procedures.
Working Hours
- Permanent, part-time position.
- 15 hours per week.
- Full-year contract.
- Start date: ASAP.
Requirements
- Previous caretaking, maintenance, or facilities experience is an advantage.
- Good DIY and practical maintenance skills.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Friendly, professional, and dependable attitude.
- Enhanced DBS check required before employment.
