About the Role
We are looking for a friendly and reliable Cashier Assistant to join our busy retail team in Birmingham. As the first point of contact for customers, you will provide excellent service while handling payments accurately and helping create a positive shopping experience. No previous cashier experience is required, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Process cash, card, and contactless payments accurately.
- Handle refunds, exchanges, and issue receipts according to company procedures.
- Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Answer customer questions and assist them around the store.
- Keep the checkout area clean, organised, and fully stocked.
- Support the team with opening and closing store duties.
- Deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
Requirements
- No previous cashier or retail experience required.
- Full training will be provided.
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused.
- Good communication and numerical skills.
- Able to remain calm during busy periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods.
- Available to work weekdays with flexibility for weekend shifts when required.
