Job Overview
Olympic Gymnasium Services is looking for a Field Service Engineer to carry out safety inspections, maintenance, repairs, refurbishment and installation of sports, PE, playground and assault course equipment at schools, colleges and military bases.
The role is mainly based around London and the Home Counties, with some work near the company’s service base in Manchester. The position involves travel to different customer locations, with occasional weekday stays away from home to reduce travel time.
Job Details
- Salary: £35,000 – £37,000 per year
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Location: Watford / On the road
- Working Pattern: Overtime, weekend availability and holiday-period work
- Benefits: Company pension, company vehicle and 28 days’ holiday including statutory holidays
- Experience: 3 years of on-site working with tools required
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites to inspect, maintain, install and repair equipment
- Complete inspection reports on a tablet using Microsoft Excel
- Source required parts and provide quotes
- Work with colleagues to obtain parts and equipment for projects
- Liaise with customers to provide suitable solutions
- Ensure equipment complies with relevant standards and Health and Safety regulations
- Maintain vehicle stocks and tools
Occasional weekend work may be required during busy school holidays and half terms.
What Should Apply?

- Practical experience in maintenance, fitting or installation
- Experience with equipment inspections and reporting
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Ability to use hand tools and work at heights
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive “can-do” attitude
- Clean, valid full UK driving licence
- DBS check
- English language proficiency
- PASMA certification is advantageous but not required
