Job Overview
A rewarding opportunity is available for a responsible and safety-focused School Bus Driver to provide reliable transport for students in the Longsight area. You will ensure students travel to and from school safely while delivering a friendly and professional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a school bus safely along assigned routes while following all road traffic regulations.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections before and after each journey.
- Ensure students board and leave the bus safely and in an orderly manner.
- Maintain a calm, respectful, and secure environment during every journey.
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and transport coordinators.
- Report vehicle faults, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
- Keep the bus clean, tidy, and ready for daily operation.
- Follow company procedures and emergency safety guidelines at all times.
- Complete any required driving or inspection records accurately.
Skills & Experience
- Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
- Previous experience driving buses, coaches, or commercial vehicles is preferred.
- Clean driving record with a strong commitment to road safety.
- Good understanding of vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in different situations.
- Reliable, punctual, and organised.
- Comfortable working independently while following scheduled routes.
