Job Overview
Solus, part of the Aviva Group and one of the UK’s leading vehicle repair companies, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join its team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving company facilities and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues.
- Perform routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on production equipment.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on company buildings, machinery, and utilities.
- Complete maintenance records, logs, and reports accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, insurance, and ISO standards.
- Coordinate with external contractors and assist them while on site.
- Maintain an adequate stock of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Update technical documentation and equipment records.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly health and safety inspections.
- Report equipment failures, repair requirements, and maintenance issues to management.
- Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and maintenance procedures are followed.
- Communicate process improvements and support staff where necessary.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve technical issues.
- Carry out additional maintenance tasks or projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or industrial repair work.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond to urgent maintenance issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Good organisational and record-keeping abilities.
- Willingness to work evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends when required.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations is an advantage.
