About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a reliable and practical Caretaker to join a professional facilities management team in Chorley. This permanent position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on maintenance work and takes pride in ensuring buildings remain safe, clean, and well-maintained.
Working Monday to Friday throughout the year, you will play an important role in supporting the daily operation of the site by carrying out routine inspections, minor repairs, and health and safety checks.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor energy usage and provide regular meter readings.
- Carry out routine fire alarm system inspections.
- Complete scheduled monthly fire door safety checks.
- Report repair and maintenance issues through the helpdesk system.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks, including:
- Replacing light bulbs and electrical fittings.
- Unblocking drains.
- Minor joinery repairs.
- Replacing fuses and plugs.
- Help maintain a safe, secure, and well-presented environment.
Requirements
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check required for the successful candidate.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, smartphones, and helpdesk systems.
- IOSH Certificate is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of Legionella awareness procedures is an advantage.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
