Key Responsibilities
As a Catering Assistant, your duties may include:
- Assisting chefs with preparing fresh and nutritious meals.
- Carrying out food preparation tasks.
- Serving food from canteen or service counters.
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen and dining areas.
- Washing kitchen equipment, utensils, and cookware.
- Following food hygiene, health, and safety procedures at all times.
- Supporting the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or kitchen environments.
- A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (training and certification may be provided if required).
- A valid DBS certificate for roles based in schools or care homes, where applicable.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Own transport is desirable, as some work locations may be difficult to access by public transport.
