Daily Nanny – Job

A Chelsea-based family is looking for an experienced and professional Daily Nanny to provide attentive care for their 20-month-old daughter. This live-out position would suit someone who is confident working with toddlers, emotionally intelligent, adaptable and genuinely passionate about supporting a young child’s development.

The family are warm and involved parents with clear expectations for how their daughter’s care and the household should operate. They are looking for a nanny who can work comfortably within those expectations while maintaining a professional employer-employee relationship. A housekeeper is also employed in the home, so the successful candidate will need to work naturally and cooperatively as part of the household team.

Role and Daily Routine

The nanny will take responsibility for the child’s everyday care, including managing meals, naps, activities, outings and bedtime when required. Planning suitable activities, arranging age-appropriate play, attending classes and organising playdates will also form part of the role.

Preparing nutritious meals and snacks for the little girl is included, along with nursery duties such as keeping her spaces, belongings and equipment tidy and organised.

The working schedule is flexible and may change from day to day. The family generally provides the schedule a few days in advance, so the nanny should be comfortable adapting when requirements change.

Occasional babysitting is expected approximately once a week. On these days, working hours may move later, with an example schedule being 10am to 10pm.

Working Hours & Travel

The standard schedule is 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with core hours of approximately 10am to 7pm. The exact hours can vary according to the family’s needs.

The family travels to the United States approximately three times each year, with trips lasting around three to five weeks. The nanny is expected to travel with them. During international travel, the working schedule is 60 hours per week with one day of rest, typically Sunday. For shorter trips of under one week, overtime may be handled through swap days or paid overtime at the family’s discretion.

The family will arrange travel requirements, and ESTA authorisation is sufficient for the US travel.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should have at least five years of professional nanny experience, including experience caring for toddlers and young children. A current First Aid certificate is required, with Paediatric First Aid preferred.

Candidates must have a valid DBS certificate or be willing to undergo a DBS check, have the right to work in the UK and provide excellent references from previous private household positions.

The ideal candidate should be easygoing, flexible, receptive to feedback and able to work effectively alongside other household staff. International travel must also be acceptable.
