Job Overview
A welcoming family based in Muswell Hill, London, is looking for a caring and experienced full-time nanny to provide dedicated care for their 2-year-old child. Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive full-time care for a toddler.
- Assist with dressing, diaper changes, and potty training.
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks.
- Keep the child’s play and living areas clean and organised.
- Plan fun, educational, and age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities.
- Read books, sing songs, and encourage language development.
- Take the child to parks, playgroups, and other suitable outings when appropriate.
- Ensure the child’s safety, comfort, and overall well-being at all times.
Supporting Child Development
The successful nanny will help encourage the child’s development by:
- Promoting physical activities that improve balance, coordination, running, climbing, and movement.
- Providing creative activities such as puzzles, drawing, building blocks, and crafts to strengthen fine motor skills.
- Encouraging communication through reading, storytelling, conversation, and music.
- Supporting early learning with educational games that build curiosity and problem-solving skills.
- Creating a caring environment that helps develop confidence, social skills, sharing, and emotional well-being.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience caring for toddlers.
- NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Valid Infant and Child First Aid/CPR certification.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to keep parents informed about the child’s daily routine and progress.
- Reliable, punctual, patient, and trustworthy.
- Positive attitude with a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Strong references from previous childcare positions.
- A valid DBS certificate issued within the last year or registered with the DBS Update Service.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 8:45 AM – 5:45 PM
- Approximately 45 hours per week
Start Date
Expected to start after September.
Salary
£19–£21 per hour (gross), depending on experience and qualifications.
