Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join a busy kitchen team in Manchester. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise kitchen worktops, walls, sinks, ovens, grills, and other food preparation areas.
- Carry out a full kitchen clean at the end of each shift to prepare for the following day.
- Keep refrigerators, freezers, and food storage areas clean and organised.
- Receive deliveries and store stock safely in the correct locations.
- Wash dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, trays, and kitchen utensils by hand or using commercial dishwashers.
- Empty bins regularly and dispose of kitchen waste in line with hygiene procedures.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, including mixers, cookers, and other appliances.
- Support chefs with basic food preparation, such as washing vegetables, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
- Assist kitchen staff with general duties to help maintain a smooth and efficient service.
Requirements
- Previous kitchen or cleaning experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to work in a busy team environment.
- Good attention to cleanliness and hygiene.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
