About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Laundry Assistant to join our friendly team in Sutton Coldfield. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent attention to detail, and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service.
As a Laundry Assistant, you will help ensure garments and linen are cleaned, pressed, and prepared to a high standard while providing a welcoming and professional experience for customers both in person and over the phone.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, iron, and hang laundry items.
- Safely operate commercial washing, drying, and ironing equipment.
- Check garments for stains or damage and carry out appropriate stain treatment where required.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the laundry area.
- Assist customers with enquiries, orders, and collection of laundry items.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service in person and via telephone.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures.
- Work closely with team members to ensure all orders are completed accurately and on time.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a laundry, housekeeping, or similar role is an advantage but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- Flexibility to work one in every three Saturdays (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) and provide holiday cover when required.
