About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join a professional facilities maintenance team supporting retail stores across Halifax and the surrounding areas. In this role, you will help ensure that store buildings, equipment, and essential systems remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.
You will carry out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs while delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with maintenance or engineering experience who enjoys solving technical problems and working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance on store facilities and equipment.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure buildings remain safe and compliant.
- Coordinate with external contractors when specialist repairs are required.
- Work closely with colleagues to deliver maintenance tasks to a high standard.
- Use mobile devices and digital systems to manage work schedules and update job records.
- Maintain health and safety standards at all times.
- Respond quickly to maintenance issues while minimising disruption to customers and store operations.
- Support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
Requirements
- Previous experience in maintenance, engineering, construction, or a similar technical role.
- ONC qualification or an equivalent technical qualification is preferred.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Confident using tablets, smartphones, Microsoft Office 365, and digital maintenance systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance tasks.
